Leidos to Help Update Army Fires Support C2 System
The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded Leidos a sole-source contract to support the modernization of the U.S. Army's command-and-control system for fires support in order for the platform to keep pace with the Department of Defense’s operational needs, including Joint All Domain Command and Control and sensor-to-shooter frameworks. A justification and approval notice published Thursday says the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System 7 modernization effort requires a shift in the current contract strategy from block development, which needs a regional fielding approach, to a code conversion effort.Â
