Comtech Subsidiary to Provide RF Equipment for North African Client’s Network Upgrade

Comtech-Telecommunications-Corp.logo-A subsidiary of Comtech Telecommunications will provide satellite modems and radio frequency equipment to a GSM operator in North Africa under a $1 million contract in support of the operator’s network upgrade and expansion efforts.

Comtech said Thursday Comtech EF Data will provide Memotec‘s CXU RAN Optimization, CDM-625A Advanced Satellite Modem, DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier bandwidth compression tool and VersaFEC-2 forward error correction tool.

The North African mobile operator will use these equipment to add network throughput at its existing remote locations and add satellite links to connect more remote sites, Comtech noted.

These efforts work to help the customer control operational and capital expenses and boost service availability and performance, the company added.
