Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman have expressed support for a new cyber strategy announced by Defense Department Secretary Ashton Carter at Stanford University.
Tim Reardon, vice president and general manager for defense and intelligence services at Lockheed, said Thursday that the company would keep working with the government and industry partners to “expand sharing and collaboration†and protect networks from cyber attacks.
“We and our industry partners have been investing and innovating cyber security solutions for more than a decade in anticipation of today’s defense and security needs,†Reardon added.
DoD intends for the strategy to bolster the agency’s cyber posture.
“Northrop Grumman applauds the DOD’s comprehensive strategy to safeguard our nation’s cyber future,” said Kathy Warden, Northrop Grumman’s corporate VP and president of information systems.
Warden added that the strategy’s emphasis on innovation and partnerships could help to strengthen the “nation’s defensive and deterrent posture.â€
