Xerox Corp. has invested in HealthSpot‘s cloud-based care delivery system in an effort to expand patient access to healthcare.
HealthSpot plans to deliver its kiosks to retail pharmacies, care centers and emergency departments across the country over the next five years under the agreement, Xerox said Wednesday.
Connie Harvey, chief operating officer of commercial healthcare at Xerox, said the company intends for the investment to transform “traditional healthcare into a high-value delivery system for patients, providers and payers.”
Patients will be able interact with doctors through HealthSpot’s cloud-based telemedicine software.
Xerox also plans to integrate HealthSpot’s software platform into its business process services.
HealthSpot will also implement Xerox’s information technology infrastructure in its kiosk for booking appointments, insurance coordination  and electronic health records interface.
