MutualinkMutualink recently demonstrated Enhanced System on Wheels using FirstNet technology to test the communication system in a simulated terrorist-related emergency.

ESOW seeks to promote multiagency collaboration, planning and decision-making in the event of an emergency by providing first responders with a secure LTE connection with which to share multimedia data on their mobile devices, Mutualink said Tuesday.

The Mutualink platform, which works to allow real-time audio, video, digital file and location information sharing in a secure environment, is already used by local agencies in the San Francisco Bay area.

“Our goal is to continue the growth of the network within the region,” said Mike Sena, director of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center, which participated in the September exercise held at Urban Shield 2014 in Oakland.

“A key feature of the system is that we can include first responders as well as other public and private entities for community-wide coordination.”

The demo at the five-day event also involved the participation of teams from ESOW handheld device maker Sonim, broadband network provider Oceus Networks and local transportation officials.
