Cisco has teamed up with the University of Calgary’s W21C Program and Alberta Health Services to further the development of healthcare services in Alberta.
The team will use Cisco’s technologies and strategies to attempt to modernize and deliver patient care systems in hospitals and households through a virtual hub, Cisco said Monday.
“Cisco believes that the future success of effective and efficient health care delivery in Canada must include adequate and appropriate use of technology, with the end goal being improved care delivery,” said Nitin Kawale, president of Cisco Canada.
Cisco will supervise the Alberta health innovation center, where technology-based healthcare services will be showcased using various “living lab” environments.
W21C facilities in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary and the Calgary zone of AHS will serve as the primary hubs for the health innovation center.
