Lenovo Closes IBM x86 Server Business Buy

Lenovo has completed the initial termsÂ for its acquisition of IBM‘sÂ x86 server business.

Lenovo has bought theÂ System x, BladeCenter and Flex System blade servers and switches, x86-based Flex integrated systems, NeXtScale and iDataPlex servers, IBM said Wednesday.

The company will also serve as IBM’sÂ original equipment manufacturer and reseller of IBM’sÂ Storwize storage products, Linear Tape Open products and elements of IBMâ€™s system software portfolio.

The transaction is scheduledÂ to close in otherÂ countries in early 2015.
