virtustreamCloud software and services provider Virtustream has received an authorization to implement its security controls on the Interior Department’s federal cloud platform.

Coalfire, a third-party assessment organization, performed the evaluation and Virtustream received security documentation and security posture for complying with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, Virtustream said Thursday.

“We are committed to the ongoing maintenance of these security controls and processes,” said Kevin Reid, CEO and chief technology officer of Virtustream.

DOI also reviewed Coalfire’s assessment of Virtustream before the department issued the certification.

Virtustream is moving DOI’s financial and business management systems into the cloud under a contract Unisys holds with the department.
