Lockheed Picks EMCORE’s Solar Cells for Satellite Program; Brad Clevenger Comments

satellite airforceLockheed Martin has agreed to incorporate EMCORE’s multi-junction solar cell assemblies into a satellite program.

EMCORE will supply its Coverglass interconnected cells that are based on the ZTJ triple-junction solar cells technology for the Lockheed-run program, EMCORE said Wednesday.

“We are very pleased to enter into this next phase of our relationship and look forward to powering Lockheed Martin’s next generation of programs for many years to come,” said Brad Clevenger, executive vice president and general manager of EMCORE’s photovoltaics division.

EMCORE will manufacture the solar cell assemblies at its Albuquerque, New Mexico-based facility.
