Bechtel Venture-Built Silver Line Opens to DC Metro Commuters; Peter Dawson Comments

BechtelLogo (1)The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has commenced passenger service on a new rail line that is built by Bechtel-led Dulles Transit Partners.

Dulles Transit Partners designed and constructed the 11.7-mile Silver Line for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Bechtel said Tuesday.

“Collaboration with our customer, local businesses, and the community has been integral to the project’s success and we thank them for their support,” said Peter Dawson, president of Bechtel’s global civil infrastructure unit.

The Metrorail’s Silver Line features six miles of elevated track, five stations and an underground tunnel.

Bechtel is currently building the Crossrail in London, the Rio de Janeiro Metro and the the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia.
