ThalesLogoPanama’s civil aviation authority has unveiled a new Thales-developed radar air traffic control center intended to handle the entire country’s airspace.

The TopSky-ATC traffic control center is built to accommodate 12 control working positions, Thales Group said Thursday.

Raphael Cervantes, director of sales for Latin America of Thales’s air traffic management business, said the company has worked to help the country upgrade its air traffic network.

The system is designed to combine Thales’s TopSky-ATC, TopSky simulator, TopSky aeronautical message handling system and TopSky aeronautical information management system for distributing and editing electronic aeronautical data.

The whole system is installed in a 3,300-square-meter facility.
