Industry Vet Pamela Fusco Named Splunk CISO

Executive move

Pamela Fusco brings her over three-decade of global enterprise security experience in her new role as chief information security officer at Splunk where she will be responsible for the software company’s overall information security infrastructure.

Fusco will collaborate with the Splunk team on implementing cloud-based security strategy and taking data-driven approach to help customers strengthen defense against security threats, the company said Monday.

She will report to Shawn Bice, president of products and technology at Splunk, and draw from her experience to apply her global security mandate that includes security operations, risk and information protection, and threat management.

Her career includes time at Apollo Education Group, Digex and Merck holding CISO and chief security officer roles, and at Citibank serving as executive vice president and head of global information security.

Fusco is a chief financial officer on the Information Systems Security board of directors and a founder of the Cloud Security Alliance and SAFE-BioPharma.

She is also a former U.S. Navy cryptologist.
