Lockheed Martin will design, build and test prototype systems for a combined arms squad under a two-year, $22.4M contract from the U.S. Army.

Army Contracting Command awarded the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract via a solicitation notice on the internet, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The service branch allocated $11.3M from fiscal year 2019 Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency funds for the contract.

Contract work will take place in Texas and the Pentagon expects Lockheed to complete all tasks by Jan. 31, 2021.
