AT&T has announced the addition of a FirstNet cell site in northwestern Minnesota to support emergency response communications.

The purpose-built station is situated between White Earth Reservation and Itasca State Park, close to the intersection of 92 and 200 state highways, AT&T said Thursday.

Public safety stakeholders determined the location can support coverage and communications for first responders who will use the network, the company noted.

The telecommunications firm built the FirstNet infrastructure with the use of Band 14 spectrum and commercial spectrum bands.

More than 7K public agencies nationwide have connected at least 600K devices to the network as of May.
