ECS’ John Sankovich: Managed Service Providers Could Help Facilitate Cloud Adoption

John Sankovich, vice president of cloud solutions at ECS, said in an interview published Tuesday that organizations should partner with a managed service provider to help train their employees when it comes to cloud adoption.

“As organizations increase their cloud adoption, they are more willing to consider additional outsourcing of more activities and full MSP offerings while they focus more on their own content operations—and less on the underlying technology that makes it all possible,” he said. “Embracing the ‘as a service’ model can be a decision that makes sense in terms of saving both time and money.”

Sankovich said organizations should know that cloud and cybersecurity are “deeply connected” and that cloud security is a shared responsibility between cloud service providers and customers. He also discussed the benefits of a multicloud approach, the need for enterprise governance and the role of the DevOps process in cloud adoption.
