Navy Eyes Raytheon’s Missile Systems Business to Update Joint Standoff Weapon

The U.S. Navy intends to award Raytheon‘s missile systems business a delivery order to update an air-to-ground glide missile system designed to engage moving maritime targets.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday says the military service wants to convert 242 AGM-154C-1 Joint Standoff Weapons to the AGM-154C configuration.

As the sole JSOW producer, Raytheon maintains the facilities and technical data needed to address the Navy’s requirement.

The C-1 variant is equipped with a weapon data link radio technology and a modified seeker software platform built to increase the performance of the system in anti-surface warfare missions.
