The Air Force Research Laboratory and the service branch’s innovation group AFWERX Vegas have launched a contest that seeks concepts for new system-on-a-chip platforms designed to operate and build up the capabilities of autonomous technologies.

Selected projects will receive access to a potential $2B Department of Defense program under the Advanced Microelectronics Prototype and Design Challenge, AFWERX said.

AFWERX and AFRL are seeking Application Specific Integrated Circuit and SoC platforms designed to maintain the integrity and security requirements of critical systems.

They will also provide cloud-based circuit design environment, IP libraries, verification tools and fabrication support to participants.

Interested parties have until Jan. 22 to submit proposals and are expected to present their prototypes beginning May 5, 2020.
