Los Angeles, Calif.-based firm AECOM has agreed to support the American Road and Transportation Builders Association in boosting its efforts in developing and managing safer transportation sites.

The engineering company said Thursday the agreement involves education and certification of AECOM employees which will result in earning the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-approved “Safety Certification for Transportation Project Professionals™” (SCTPP) designation.

The SCTPP designation approves selected individuals who possess core competencies needed to maintain safety in and around transportation project sites.

AECOM Executive Vice President Matt Cummings stated that the company will integrate the ANSI-approved SCTPP program into its professional development portfolio.

“AECOM is committed to helping improve safety in and around all the transportation projects we design, build and manage,” he added.

The partnership will also involve providing AECOM’s staff with SCTPP prep courses and sample exam materials that are pre-approved for professional development hours.
