Donald Williams Named Global Engineering EVP at Polycom

Donald Williams, formerly vice president and head of engineering at software company  Prysm, has been named executive VP of worldwide engineering at Polycom.

Polycom said Monday Williams will lead the firm’s efforts to develop audio, video and content sharing platforms, as well as manage engineering team members in North America, China and India.

“Don brings considerable experience in managing diverse globally distributed teams and a focus on execution that will be critical in how we address the incredible growth opportunities in the [unified communications] industry,” said Polycom CEO Mary McDowell.

Williams previously held research and development leadership roles at Cisco, Skype, Autonometry and OfficeToGo.

He will work through Polycom’s Austin, Texas-based R&D office.
