An upcoming Red Hat symposium on government information technology will feature speakers from 13 government agencies who will discuss the impact of open source software on the sector.
Red Hat said Thursday its Nov. 10 Government Symposium will focus on how open source software can address government IT challenges in agility, flexibility and collaboration.
“The way government IT operates is evolving rapidly, and agencies are consistently balancing the need to meet current industry standards with the desire to use the latest and best technology,” said Paul Smith, vice president and general manager of Red Hat’s U.S. public sector business.
“This technology is changing the way teams work and the way projects are executed, resulting in increased efficiency and innovation across agencies.”
Red Hat said Damon Edwards, a principal at DTO Solutions, is the keynote speaker for the event.
Symposium sponsors include Carahsoft, Cisco, Computer Sciences Corp., Dell, DLT Solutions, Hortonworks, immixGroup, Intel and World Wide Technology.
