ABI Research ranked TCS as the number one provider in the global location-based services platform market based on 13 criteria, TCS said Thursday.

“As location technology has enabled valuable applications including navigation, asset tracking and locating people, TCS has created location toolkit APIs for embedded location, mapping and navigation in a growing variety of apps,” said Jay Whitehurst, president of TCS’ commercial software group.

Patrick Connolly, a senior analyst at ABI Research, believes TCS technology has the potential to address indoor location requirements for 9-1-1, FirstNet and LTE infrastructure.

Maryland-based TCS also offers infrastructure, middleware, application programming interfaces, navigation, mapping and content management systems to customers globally.
