Executive Profile: Wray Varley, CenturyLink Area VP for Advanced Programs in DHS, DOJ

varley_wray_smallWray Varley serves as area vice president of advanced programs for the departments of Homeland Security and Justice at CenturyLink’s federal government industry.

In this role, he directs a sales team that focuses on CenturyLink’s national security-related contracts.

Prior to this role, Varley had sales and business development responsibility for all civilian government agencies such as the departments of Energy and Treasury, the General Services Administration and NASA.

He joined CenturyLink in 2001 after service in director positions at Veridian Information Solutions (now a part of General Dynamics) and Sytel, where he developed its federal and enterprise business.

Varley is also a long-time veteran of Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), where he had sales and revenue responsibility for civilian agencies in his last role there.

He studied business management at Virginia Tech.
