Leda Chong has been appointed senior vice president for Asia-Pacific at Gulfstream Aerospace, a General Dynamics business, to oversee the unit’s business aviation sector in the APAC region.
Chong will be based in Beijing and is a former APAC regional SVP for General Dynamics’ aerospace division, Gulfstream said Wednesday.
Gulfstream President Larry Flynn said Chong will lead efforts to maintain the unit’s established relationships with stakeholders in Asia Pacific.
“Her support of aviation programs… such as the U.S.-China Aviation Cooperation Program, helped to showcase the major economic and social benefits of business aviation, implement key regulatory initiatives and design a roadmap for general aviation growth,†Flynn said.
Chong, a former U.S. Navy commander, first joined General Dynamics as director for government relations and later served as staff VPÂ of government relations.
She holds degrees in applied mathematics and French literature from the University of California in San Diego, where she graduated with Latin honors.
