Leonardo has completed the first unit delivery of an upgraded naval vessel to Bahrain’s navy, following an agreement signed in 2015.

The delivery occurred in Mina Salman and covered the first of six Al Manama naval vessels with modernized weapon control systems, the company said Tuesday.

The agreement also entails the provision of complementary training and logistics services.

The effort follows Leonardo’s previous deliveries of air traffic control radar systems to Bahrain.

The company seeks to further extend its land and naval systems offerings to other countries within the Gulf region.
