L3 Technologies has received a $10.6 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract contract from the U.S. Navy to update and integrate software for a Canadian operational flight program as part of a foreign military sales agreement.

The Defense Department said Monday the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division selected the contractor to support Canada’s CF-18 C21X-B2.0 program.

The Canadian armed forces’ CF-18 platform was designed to engage aerial and ground targets as well as support air defense, aerobatic demonstration, air superiority, aerospace testing and evaluation, tactical support and training operations.

DoD noted NAWCTSD will obligate the full amount from FMS funds at the time of award.

Work will occur in Arlington, Texas and other locations in Canada through November 2021.
