Elbit Systems has opened a facility in Colombia to provide mission training support for fighter pilots, squadrons and ground crews of the country’s air force.

The company said Monday its new Mission Training Center will train the Colombian air force’s personnel on how to operate aircraft systems and conduct missions in a simulated battlefield environment.

MTC is equipped with multiple interconnected cockpits and a computer-generated forces system designed to host concurrent participation of friendly and hostile forces.

The center is built upon Elbit Systems’ SkyBreaker MTC and seeks to apply a train-as-you-fight concept in efforts to help train pilots, squadrons and ground controllers.

Training programs at the new center will cover tactical mission planning, rehearsal and debriefing, as well as accommodate up to 24 participants in basic, advanced mission-oriented and emergency training.
