Accenture has invested in Vancouver, Canada-based quantum computing software developer 1QBit in a push to help organizations generate intelligence data with quantum-based analytics technology.

Both companies also formed a strategic alliance for Accenture to serve as 1QBit’s systems integrator and leverage the 1QBit platform in efforts to demonstrate, train, develop and test tools and assets, Accenture said Tuesday.

The partnership seeks to build a quantum-inspired analytics platform through Accenture’s analytics arm, as well as expand pilot programs identified via an Accenture laboratory.

Andrew Fursman, 1QBit CEO and co-founder, said the alliance will give 1QBit access to Accenture’s resources and introduce the software company’s technologies to a broader customer base.

1QBit develops quantum and quantum-inspired software designed to help address an organization’s computational challenges.

Accenture said it also filed patent applications for quantum technologies such as a multi-state quantum optimization engine and quantum computing methods to boost transportation systems.
