CyrusOne conducted a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning to initiate the construction of a data center campus in Allen, Texas.

The company said Tuesday the campus will consist of three data centers with more than 100 megawatts of allocated power and bring CyrusOne’s total footprint in the state to more than 1.7 million square feet.

The first of three centers will encompass 340,000 square feet.

Allen Mayor Stephen Terrell joined Robert Jackson, executive vice president and general counsel of CyrusOne, and other company executives during the ceremony.

The campus is located close to the intersection of Stacy Road and Chelsea Blvd.
