The U.S. Navy has awarded Huntington Ingalls Industries a $9.9 million order for engineering, design, liaison, material procurement, program management and scheduling services to facilitate the post-shakedown availability of USS Ralph Johnson destroyer ship.

Seventy-five percent of the work will occur in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and the remaining 25 percent will take place in Everett, Washington, the Defense Department said Friday.

DoD noted the Navy will use fiscal 2017 shipbuilding and conversion funds to cover the full obligated amount at the time of award.

HII is scheduled to finish work by January 2019.
