Ray Service has been chosen to develop and manufacture cabling assemblies for vehicle-mounted mortar systems that BAE Systems will build for the Swedish army.

BAE said Tuesday it will provide 40 Mjolner mortars for installation on CV90 infantry fighting vehicles under as part of a $68 million contract awarded by Sweden’s defense material administration in late 2016.

BAE and VOP CZ jointly offered the CV90 platform to the Czech Republic’s BMP-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle replacement program under a teaming agreement signed last year.

VOP CZ will also build components for BVS10 Beowulf all-terrain vehicles BAE’s Hagglunds subsidiary is manufacturing for the Austrian government.

More than 1,200 CV90s are currently used in seven countries that include NATO allies.

BAE said it plans to continue partnerships with Czech companies if the country’s government decides to adopt the company’s vehicle offering.
