Saab LogoSaab has received a contract from Sweden’s defense material administration to develop and produce torpedo integration systems for A26 submarines.

The company said Wednesday it will construct, manufacture and verify integration systems for two A26 submarines the agency ordered for the Swedish navy last year.

Saab will also update current systems on Visby-class corvettes and Gotland-class submarines under the contract.

“With this contract, the Swedish Navy will have modern Torpedo Integration Systems on their submarines and corvettes to ensure a continued and modern operation of the existing torpedo systems,” said Anne-Marie Vosu, head of underwater systems within Saab’s Dynamics business.

The company will perform work through 2020 and the contract includes an option for system upgrade services.
