optim-llc-logoOptim has landed an $860,000 contract to provide a light-emitting diode videoscope system to the U.S. Navy‘s fleet logistics center in San Diego.

The service branch will install Optim’s FreedomView LED videoscope in vessels operated by the Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic, the company said Monday.

FreedomView is designed to help gas turbine system technicians perform preventative or corrective maintenance on gas turbine generators, propulsion engines and supporting systems as well as main propulsion machinery.

Paul Joyce, Optim CEO said purchases from the Navy, Drug Enforcement Agency and State Department have helped demonstrate the videoscope’s capacity for industrial and contraband inspections worldwide.

The company noted that the FV Videoscope features the OptiLux LED lighting technology along with access ports for media storage, direct stream functions, a joystick control, right angle viewing option and rugged Tungsten braid construction.
