IEC Electronics to Develop Communications Equipment for Top Global Defense Company

IEC Electronics Image RequestIEC Electronics has acquired a $10 million contract from a Tier 2 Defense Department supplier to develop a digital networking and voice communications product that can be used for ground vehicles, surface warships and aircrafts.

Production for the three-year contract is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2016, IEC said Thursday.

Jeffrey Schlarbaum, IEC president and CEO, said that the company has experience in handling the communications product.

He added that there is a possibility that the program could be expanded.
