cybersecurityUltra Electronics 3eTI has introduced a new traffic monitoring and alerting product for OLE for Process Control systems in an effort to help industrial automation and control system customers counter cyber attacks.

The tool is part of the company’s CyberFence product line designed to monitor and protect OPC applications, Ultra Electronics said Monday.

Benga Erinle, president of Ultra Electronics, said CyberFence works to both protect critical assets and sustain operations through the OPC protocol.

CyberFence works to examine authorized applications, track TCP port assignments, block requests inconsistent with standards, configure OPC clients and servers and standardize methods for unauthorized activity reporting.

The product also uses the deep packet inspection technology to authorize traffic to assigned ports on networked workstations.
