A Cubic–IBI Group alliance has received a follow-on contract to help maintain an integrated system for the Scottish transportation agency to manage a network of trunk roads across Scotland.
Cubic’s transportation systems business and IBI have collaborated to build and update Scotland’s traffic management infrastructure since the mid-90s, Cubic said Wednesday.
Hugh Gillies, head of network operations at Transport Scotland, said the companies designed the platform with “intelligent” transport applications as well as computing and communication tools that work to gather and disseminate road traffic data.
The agency’s integrated system is also built to provide incident management, CCTV, data warehousing and journey time alert services, Cubic noted.
