A Northrop Grumman business unit has won a contract to provide Thailand’s naval forces with Integrated Bridge Systems for installation aboard the country’s future frigates.
Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine will supply several IBS tools, including VisionMaster FT radars, Warship Automatic Identification System, NAVIKNOT speed log, NAVIGAT X MK1 gyrocompass and a voyage data recorder via Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering‘s shipyard, Northrop said Tuesday.
The contract with the Royal Thai Navy includes options for three additional IBS and sets June 2016 as the scheduled delivery date.
Thailand’s naval forces also placed an order for VisionMaster FT Electronic Chart Display and Information System, S-band and X-band radars, gyrocompass tools and a speed log for use in its patrol boats.
“Our Warship ECDIS is designed to support the operational requirements of the modern navy and provide navigation teams with an integrated electronic navigation picture,†said Jeanne Usher, managing director of Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine.
