Northrop Grumman MQ-4C TritonNorthrop Grumman has selected Australia-based Mincham Aviation to produce aircraft structure components for the U.S. Navy‘s MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft system under the Australian Defense Department’s Global Supply Chain program.

Mincham is the second Australian supplier to receive the Triton components contract following Northrop’s deal with Ferra Engineering for the manufacture of mechanical subassemblies, Northrop  said Wednesday.

“We will continue to look to offer opportunities to quality-focused Australian companies to be involved in the production and sustainment of Triton, which will be one of the U.S. Navy’s and Royal Australian Air Force’s key capabilities for many years to come,” said Ian Irving, chief executive of Northrop Grumman Australia.

Northrop has also requested other Australian companies to submit quotations for cables, machined and composite assemblies, special tooling and test equipment.
