Lockheed Orders Orbital ATK’s Satellite Propellant, Pressurant Tanks for A2100; Mike Cacheiro Comments

AEHF satelliteLockheed Martin has selected Orbital ATK to build propellant and pressurant tanks for Lockheed’s new A2100 satellite platform.

Orbital ATK will supply a composite pair of liquid propellant tanks, titanium-lined pressurant tanks and titanium-lined ion propulsion xenon tanks to Lockhed under the five-year contract, Orbital ATK said Monday.

Mike Cacheiro, vice president of global supply chain at Lockheed Martin, said the company intends to meet mission requirements of customers with the A2100.

“This contract and technology are important elements of our modernized A2100 satellite,” added Cacheiro.
