Frontier Technology Inc. will establish its Operational Research Bridge for Innovation and Technology Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to facilitate secure collaboration and knowledge transfer in the space operations domain.

FTI will invest $15 million in the construction of the new 46,000-square-foot secure facility and create 200 job opportunities in advanced visualization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science and software engineering, the Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corporation announced Tuesday.

The company seeks to expand its footprint in the state through the ORBIT Center and boost its collaboration with the Department of Defense and its partners on space-related missions.

“We’re pleased to have been awarded strong growth incentives by the City of Colorado Springs, and we look forward to increasing our investment and bringing hundreds of new, high-paying jobs to the local community over the next decade,” said Jose Hidalgo, president of FTI.

FTI will receive up to $102,590 in performance-based incentives from the Colorado Springs City Council to support the construction project.

The new facility is expected to become operational by Dec. 31, 2024.
