Michael Gazarik, a vice president at Ball Aerospace, took a three-year seat at the NASA Advisory Council's technology, innovation and engineering committee in July.
Gazarik said in a statement published Monday he will help examine NASA's portfolio to inform technology, research and development efforts that could address the agency's objectives.
He brings over 25 years of experience in designing, building and fielding spaceflight systems to the committee.
Gazarik manages Ball's research and development offerings and helps ensure the fulfillment of business demands in his current capacity as VP of engineering.
Prior to joining Ball, Gazarik carried out work at NASA's space technology mission directorate as associate administrator.
NASA's advisory council is formed in 1977 to submit insights and recommendations to the agency's administrator.
