Amazon Web Services has launched an initiative that will enable the company’s industry partners to offer their tools to support the emerging security needs of government customers.

Greg Herrmann, senior security partner strategist at AWS, wrote in a blog post published Tuesday that the Security Solutions for Government Workloads effort falls under the company’s Authority to Operate on AWS initiative and covers members of the AWS Partner Network.

Partner entities will have the opportunity to develop and offer tools that comply with the government’s security standards for applications such as remote workforce and web portal security.

AWS looks to offer the resulting technologies through the AWS Solutions Library, requests to the AWS team or direct engagement with AWS partners.

The company also plans to expand its current pool of six program participants including Infusion Points and stackArmor.
