Kollsman Inc., a subsidiary of Elbit Systems’ U.S. arm, had secured a prototyping agreement to help System of Systems Consortium, Inc. develop a new targeting system for the U.S. Army.
The Multi-Domain User Sensor Architecture, or MDUSA, technology is a compact, modular tool designed to help dismounted troops engage targets with boosted situational awareness, Elbit Systems said Monday.
MDUSA will work to accelerate target acquisition, increase range coverage and support adaptability against new threats. The prototype will consist of a laser marker designator, a precision azimuth, a tripod and modules for target locating and vertical angling.
Ridge Sower, vice president of ground combat and precision targeting solutions at Elbit Systems of America, said the new system will function in contested environments including those denied of GPS signals.
SOSSEC is developing MDUSA under an other transaction agreement with the Army.
