Vectorworks and Esri have partnered to incorporate data from web-based geospatial mapping software into a building information modeling platform.

The partnership aims to provide aerial imagery for architectural, engineering and construction projects by adding ArcGIS Online services to the Vectorworks 2020 software suite, the company said Monday.

Esri's ArcGIS technology works to help users create a map and customize applications that use maps.

The integrated offering is meant to aid AEC and landscape professionals who want to apply GIS data in support of government or civilian planning efforts.

Users of Vectorworks’ Architect, Landmark and Designer software products can purchase a subscription for Esri’s ArcGIS Online database to use satellite imagery in building modeling projects.
