Capella Space has secured a contract of undisclosed sum to integrate synthetic aperture radar data into virtual reality software used by the U.S. Air Force.
Contract work will also cover the delivery of an analytics tool that will enable the software to automatically yield satellite data and employ object identification as well as change detection capabilities, the company said Wednesday.Â
The firm noted its satellites capture amplitude and gather imagery under various lighting and weather scenarios. The firm has launched a small satellite constellation that will support the development of a space imaging service for conservation, security and commercial purposes through SAR images.
“Capella will work alongside the U.S. Air Force to foster collaboration and deliver a product that best suits their mission needs,†said Dan Brophy, vice president of government services at Capella.
The company received the contract during the Air Force Space Pitch Day that took place Nov. 5-6 in San Francisco.
