TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 22, 2019 — AECOM (NYSE: ACM) has hired former U.K. nuclear official David Batters as senior vice president and international sector lead for the AECOM Management Services group’s nuclear and environment strategic business unit, GovCon Wire reported Tuesday.

Batters, whose appointment takes effect in September, will liaise with AECOM’s private and public sector clients in the Asian and European markets, including Japan and the U.K., the company said July 15.

“David Batters’ international experience and knowledge in the nuclear industry will allow us to further our momentum in the international government and commercial nuclear market,” said John Vollmer, president of AECOM Management Services and a 2019 Wash100 Award winner.

“This appointment strengthens our international presence in a key growth opportunity market as we implement the spin-off of our new company in 2020,” he added. Before joining AECOM, Batters served as the U.K. Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s chief financial officer and worked at BAE Systems for over 20 years.
