Kongsberg's Hydroid subsidiary has received a potential five-year, $47.9M contract to support the production of unmanned underwater vehicles for the U.S. Navy.

Hydroid will produce MK 18 Family of Systems at a manufacturing facility in Pocasset, Mass., under the firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that has a $23.1M initial value, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The IDIQ contains a one-year base period and work could extend through April 2024 if the Navy exercises all options.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center's Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division is the contracting activity for the sole-source procurement.
