Harris has secured a potential 10-year, $50M contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to manufacture additional components for U.S. Army night vision systems.

The firm-fixed-price contract seeks image intensifying tubes for the Harris-built AN/AVS-6 and AN/AVS-9 aviator’s night vision imaging systems, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Work will take place in Virginia through April 24, 2024 under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has a five-year base period and five option years.

Harris offers AN/AVS-9 in more than 40 different configurations, including rotary-wing and fixed-wing versions, to support pilots in critical night operations.

The AN/AVS-6 binocular is designed for rotary-wing pilots and can be mounted to a variety of aviator helmets such as Alpha, SPH-4B and HGU-56P.
