Nazzic Keene, chief operating officer of Science Applications International Corp., has been named COO of the Year by the Washington Business Journal at the recent 2018 CEO of the Year and C-Suite Awards.

The event recognizes the leadership and performance of CEO and other C-level executives in the region as well as nonprofit executive directors and managing partners, SAIC said Friday.

“This is an exciting time for SAIC as we continue to grow and advance as a company, and I am proud to help lead us through the next chapter in our evolution,” Keene said.

SAIC CEO Tony Moraco said Keene has been helping the company in its growth and “solid earnings results year over year even during challenging market conditions.”

“I thank her for her leadership and commitment to growing the company, supporting our employees and successfully executing our strategy,” he added.

Keene moved to SAIC in 2012 and led the company’s separation from its former parent company in 2013. She served as sector president of the firm’s global markets and missions business before being promoted to COO.
