The U.S. Air Force will administer a national pitch day to help small businesses market their products and services to the branch, Federal News Network reported Monday.

Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson said at the Defense One Summit in Washington that the first pitch days will take place between March 6 and 7 next year.

She added that the Air Force will use LinkedIn and other websites to announce the service branch’s needs in the areas of software, intelligence and special operations. USAF will also accept pitches in other fields under an open category.

USAF intends to award around 20 percent of its contracts to small businesses yearly, the report noted.
