Easterly Government Properties has agreed to purchase a Drug Enforcement Administration-run laboratory in Upper Marlboro, Md., that offers technical, administrative and scientific support to law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

The General Services Administration leased the class A lab for DEA through a 20-year lease agreement that is scheduled to expire in 2022, Easterly said Monday.

Personnel at the 50,978-square-foot facility analyze latent fingerprint and controlled substances, as well as provide technical advice to law enforcement organizations that investigate crime scenes.

The property will mark the fourth DEA technical lab that Easterly will own.

The real estate company added it is acquiring a similar agency facility located in Sterling, Va.
